wahaca chilli matches

I've never been a fan of corporate gifts; the generic giveaway or goody bag. I went to a sports industry awards dinner recently, at every one of the thousand place settings sat a leather man-bag cheque book holder thing. I wonder how many of those are now being gainfully employed?

It has always struck me that trying to find a gift that is attractive to everyone is a flawed exercise and simply results in producing more stuff the world doesn't need. These wahaca chilli matches are an example of a brilliant micro-gift idea. The Mexican restaurant has big bowls of them for people to take.

They are cheap, charming, memorable, precisely born of the wahaca brand, and beautifully produced. And, most importantly, after three months knocking around our kitchen they still grew!
