Shiny Shiny Serpentine Pavillion

Brand Experience agencies and clients often talk about creating 'iconic structures' and 'pieces of brand architecture'. In their heads people imagine wonderful futuristic megaliths. The reality is normally very different. The reason being that such structures are incredibly difficult, not to mention expensive, to design and build.

Visiting this year's Serpentine's summer Pavillion reminded me just how complex these projects are, the list of people involved in the project is vast and the time-line long. The resulting structure, designed by Japanese architects Sanaa, is though, amazing. I took these shots on my phone, there are some far more accomplished ones on flickr.
