Interim show

In a very small way I've been helping out a Masters student on the St Martin's Creative Practice for Narrative Environments course. I went along to the work in progress show on Tuesday evening and was really impressed by the work. These are the students who go on to create Science Museum installations and the such like.

There were two things that I particularly liked. Firstly, the students aren't all trained 2D designers, some have much more generalist backgrounds with degrees in things like history and philosophy and the breadth of their work reflected this. Secondly, they used brilliant 'off-screen' techniques for presenting their work. Techniques that didn't necessarily depend on skilled model making but utilised lego, suitcases and other interesting things. It will definitely be worth getting an invite to the end of year show.
