Getting noticed

Anyone can organise an event these days. Well certainly the ones built around a personal passion; the kind that take place in town halls and upstairs rooms in pubs. Facebook, Twitter and Blogger help you find your audience, Eventbrite does the ticketing bit. As a result there is a vast number of new events, but of course a finite number of people to go to them and days of the week for them to happen on.

This new wave of event impressario are increasingly having to do more than stick up a sparse facebook page. They are deploying one of the oldest skills of the promoter and the student ents officer - creating compelling event identities. The above one for Accidental Powercut is great. I'm not sure I'd have found the time if this lovely designed hadn't caught my eye.
